Paper Lanterns

Paper lanterns are one of the easiest ways to fill a ceiling with colour, and ours start at just $2.99 for a 25cm Magenta Accordion Lantern. The Base Warehouse keeps a wide range of plain, patterned and character party lanterns, so you can buy online or shop in person at one of our 8 NSW stores.

What is in the paper lantern range

Solid colours include the 35cm Apple Red Accordion Lantern and 35cm True Blue Lantern at $3.99 each, plus a Black Lantern for $3.99 and a 2 Pack of 25cm Pink Accordion Lanterns for $5.99. For a bit of shine, try the 20cm Gold Dots Round Paper Lantern at $2.99 or the 25cm Gold Glitter Round Paper Lantern at $3.99. Themed parties are covered by the 3 Pack Mickey Mouse Forever Paper Lanterns & Ears at $23.99, the 3 Pack Minnie Mouse Forever Paper Lanterns with Bows & Ears at $26.99, and 3 packs of Star Wars Galaxy and Super Mario Brothers lanterns at $23.99. For home styling there is a White Wooden Lantern With Metal Roof at $71.99 and a small Metal Lantern at $35.99. Pair lanterns with fairy lights, party garlands or honeycomb balls and paper fans for a full ceiling display.

How to hang paper lanterns

Mix sizes rather than using one: a cluster of 35cm, 25cm and 20cm lanterns hung at staggered heights looks fuller than a straight row. Open accordion lanterns gently and fit the wire frame so they hold their shape. Use fishing line or ribbon to hang them from ceiling hooks, a curtain rod or a tree branch outdoors. Paper lanterns are decorations, so keep them away from open flames and candles. For more ideas see our hanging party decorations.
