How to plan your Christmas baking

Bake sturdy treats like shortbread, gingerbread and rocky road first, since they hold their shape well in a tin. Leave decorating until the day before giving, then finish with gold or silver sprinkles. Choose tin sizes to suit the gift: the book shaped tin holds a small batch, while the square tin fits a stack of biscuits.
