How to size a tablecloth and runner

Measure your table first, then add the drop you want on each side. A 150cm wide cloth on a 90cm wide table gives a 30cm drop on each side. For length, a 250cm cloth suits a table of around 190cm to 210cm, and 300cm suits a longer table. A runner can hang over the ends or sit neatly on the tabletop; a 180cm runner on a 150cm table leaves a short overhang at each end. Placemats around 35cm x 48cm fit a 26cm dinner plate with room for cutlery.
