How to choose the right rug size

In a living room, the rug should be big enough for at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs to sit on it; a 160cm x 230cm or 150cm x 200cm rug suits most three seat lounges. A 60cm x 90cm rug works beside a bed, at the kitchen sink or in a narrow hall. Jute, seagrass and coir add natural texture and suit dry indoor areas, while rubber and PVC mats are the ones to use outside the door. Pair rugs with cushions and soft furnishings, or finish the bathroom with bathroom accessories.
