Hanging Decor

Hanging decor brings movement and light into a room or garden in a way flat wall art can't. The Base Warehouse carries more than 130 pieces of hanging decor, from $3.00 to $239.99, including wind chimes, suncatchers, dream catchers and macrame.

What is in the hanging decor range

Wind chimes run from the Bamboo Natural Wind Chime (98cm, $14.99) to the Natures Melody tuned chimes, including the Silver Classic 4 Tube (85cm, $35.99) and the Classic 5 Tube (120cm, $143.99). Suncatchers include the Rainbow Ring Crystal Sun Catcher (40cm, $15.99), the Rose Quartz Heart Crystal Suncatcher (50cm) and the Amethyst Gem Moon Crystal Suncatcher (29cm, $14.99). Dream catchers range from the Half Moon Dream Catcher with Agate Slice (15cm, $17.99) to the Natural Hand Knitted Cotton Dream Catcher (60cm x 60cm, $47.99). For macrame there is the 3 Tier Macrame Hanging Basket ($39.99), the Macrame Wooden Hanging Shelf (25cm, $24.99) and the Hanging Seat Swing Macrame (170cm, $179.99).

Where to hang chimes, suncatchers and dream catchers

Suncatchers need direct sun to throw colour, so hang them in a window where light hits the glass for a few hours a day. Wind chimes need a breeze and a little shelter; a verandah edge or pergola beam works well, and hang longer chimes like the 120cm pieces where nobody will walk into them. Light sleepers should keep chimes away from bedroom windows. Dream catchers sit nicely above a bed head or in a nursery corner. For the swing, baskets and shelves, fix into a solid beam or stud, not plasterboard alone. See the full macrame collection or pair hanging pieces with wall decor.
