The Base Warehouse

Helium Balloons Filled In Store

Every The Base Warehouse store fills helium balloons in store. Choose your balloons from our latex, foil, number and bubble ranges, book the inflation with your nearest store, and pick them up ready for the party. Helium inflation starts from $2.00 for a 30cm latex balloon.

How in-store balloon inflation works

  • Book your inflation order with your store in advance. Bookings are made in store, not over the phone or online.
  • Book balloon arrangement orders 1 to 2 weeks ahead, as weekends are especially busy.
  • Inflation prices are for helium only. The balloon is an extra cost.
  • Arrangements are an additional $1.30 per balloon.
  • 1.5m of ribbon is supplied with every balloon inflated.

How long do helium balloons float?

  • Latex: 8 to 12 hours with helium, depending on the balloon and whether HI-FLOAT gel is used. Up to a week filled with air before shrinking.
  • Foil: about 1 week and up to 2 weeks with helium. A month or more filled with air.
  • Bubble: over a week with helium, over a month with air.

Because latex balloons only float for hours, plan to fill them or pick them up on the day of your event. Air-filled and helium foil arrangements last over 24 hours and still look good, so they can be collected the day before. HI-FLOAT treatment coats the inside of latex balloons to slow helium loss.

Rather fill them yourself?

Every store also hires helium tanks, from $79.99 for a small tank that fills about 50 standard 30cm latex balloons. See helium tank hire for sizes, deposits and how it works.
