Costume Folding Fans

Costume folding fans are a small prop that adds a lot to an outfit, and this edit of 17 is priced from $2.99 to $11.99. There are small paper fans, lace fans, plastic fans and large sequin fans, plus a plain white parasol. The Base Warehouse has been stocking dress-up accessories since 1989, and fans work for colour days, period costumes and dance performances alike.

What is in the costume folding fan range

Small paper fans come in red, yellow, green, blue, purple and black, from $2.99 to $3.99, including the Yellow, Green and Blue Small Paper Colour Fans. Lace fans come in red ($3.49) and yellow ($3.99), and small plastic fans in orange, pink and green. For more sparkle there are Large Sequin Fans in blue ($3.99), white ($4.79) and green ($4.79), and the Yellow Polka Dot Fan at $3.99. The Plain White Large Parasol at $11.99 completes a southern belle, garden party or vintage look.

How to use a folding fan in a costume

Choose the fan to match the outfit, then the colour. Lace and paper fans suit period looks: a red or black lace fan works with a flapper dress, a Spanish-style dance costume or a vintage evening gown. Sequin fans catch the light on stage, so they suit dance concerts and cabaret nights. For a school colour day, a small paper or plastic fan in the team colour is an easy extra that kids can carry all day. Pair a fan with gloves and a boa for a full evening look, and see the 1920s range or coloured dress ups for outfit ideas.
