Piping Tips & Icing Nozzles

Piping bag tips turn a plain bag of buttercream into swirls, rosettes, borders and fine writing, and The Base Warehouse keeps single icing tips and full nozzle sets side by side. Prices start at $2.25 for a 3 Pack Stainless Steel Icing Nozzles, with most individual tips at $3.99. Compare shapes at our NSW stores or order online.

What is in the piping tips range

Single icing piping tips include the Mondo No.1M and No.4B Open Star, No.2F Drop Flower and No.67 Leaf Piping Tip, all $3.99. Sugar Crafty adds fine Round Icing Tips 00 and 000, the Petal Icing Tip 104 and the Basket Weave Icing Tip 47, also $3.99. Sprinks Icing Piping Tips 1M and 2D are $4.79. If you would rather start with a set, the Mondo 7 Piece Pastry Piping Star Nozzle Set is $15.99 and the Mondo Russian / Flower Piping Tip Set, 10 Piece, is $35.99. Pair your tips with disposable and reusable piping bags, tint your icing with food colouring, and finish the cake with our baking utensils.

How to choose piping nozzles for cakes and cupcakes

Match the nozzle to the job. Open star tips like the 1M give the classic cupcake swirl and small rosettes, while round tips handle dots, beads and writing; the smaller the number, the finer the line, so 000 is best for lettering. Petal tips such as the 104 build roses and ruffles, the 233 grass tip makes fur and grass, and leaf tips finish off flowers. A coupler lets you swap cake nozzles on one bag without emptying it: the By Sprinks Small or Medium Icing Piping Tip Coupler is $3.49 and the Large is $4.79. Wash metal tips in warm soapy water and dry them well after use.
