How to use vase fillers and decorative stones

In clear vases, fill the base 3cm to 5cm deep to anchor stems and hide the cut ends. Layer sand under shells or gravel for a coastal look in a hurricane vase with a pillar candle, keeping stones clear of the flame. On potted plants, a layer of river stone or pebbles over the soil gives a finished look. Rinse stones before using them with water or fresh flowers. Browse decorative vases, candle holders and votives and pots and planters to pair them with.
