Clocks

Wall clocks do two jobs at once: they tell the time and they anchor a wall. The Base Warehouse has over 40 clocks, priced from $2.00 to $167.99, covering statement wall clocks, retro garage clocks, LED table clocks and DIY clock parts.

What is in the clocks range

Statement wall clocks include the Black Round Clock with Moving Cogs (73cm, $119.99), the White Clock with Moving Cogs (76cm, $107.99), the Square Iron Wall Clock (68cm x 68cm, $167.99) and the Natural White Roman Numeral Wood Wall Clock (60cm x 60cm, $99.99). For the garage there are 17cm clocks such as HT Holden Vintage, Castrol GTX Super Multi-Grade and Round Esso Motor Oil at $14.99 each. On the desk or bedside, choose the LED Cuboids Table Clock With Temperature Display ($29.99), wooden cube LED clocks at $23.99 or the 3D Number Alarm Table Clock With Light ($14.99). Crafters can build their own with the DIY Wood Clock Mechanism ($3.99) and Diy Clock Numbers ($2.00).

How to choose the right size wall clock

Measure the wall before you fall for a clock. A 30cm clock suits a kitchen, study or small bedroom wall. Over a sofa, bed or sideboard, go bigger: something in the 60cm to 80cm range reads as a feature rather than an afterthought, and should span around half to two thirds of the furniture below it. Hang it so the centre sits near eye level. Match the finish to the room: timber and white for coastal looks, black and iron for industrial, retro brand clocks for a man cave or shed. Round out the wall with wall decor or paintings and prints.
