How to choose adhesive hooks, S hooks and cup hooks

Self adhesive hooks show a weight rating on the pack, so a 300g hook suits paper fans and light garlands, while the 700g or 1kg hooks are better for heavier banners. Stick them to clean, dry, smooth surfaces and give the adhesive time to bond before hanging anything. Suction cup hooks work best on glass and tiles. S hooks hang from rails, branches or a pergola beam. Cup hooks screw into timber, such as the underside of a shelf or a door frame. Hanging clips and pegs are ideal for pinning streamers, cards or photos to a string line.
