Christmas Tinsel & Garlands

Christmas tinsel is the quickest way to fill out a tree, and at The Base Warehouse a 200cm Christmas Tinsel Garland starts at just $1.79. Fine cut, thick cut, patterned garlands and 10m rolls are all here. Order online for delivery Australia wide or match colours in person at our 8 NSW stores.

What is in the tinsel and garland range

Classic lengths include the Traditional 3Ply Star Cut Tinsel and the Red 6Ply Mix Tinsel, both 200cm for $2.50, plus the fuller Thick Cut 6Ply Christmas Tinsel at $6.99. For a deep green or red tree, the Assorted 10Ply Green Fine Cut Tinsel and Assorted 10Ply Red Fine Cut Tinsel are $3.00 each. Patterned options include the Christmas Tinsel Garland With Stars and With Trees at $2.50, and the Christmas Rose Gold Garland With Beads at 800cm for $5.99. Decorating a shopfront or long balcony? Silver, Gold, Green and Pink Tinsel On Roll comes in 10m lengths for $11.99. Pair tinsel with Christmas baubles and Christmas trees, or see Christmas wreaths for the front door.

How to use tinsel as a Christmas tree garland

Put lights on first, then tinsel, then baubles. Start at the top and wrap the tinsel garland in a loose spiral down the tree, letting it drape between branches rather than pulling it tight. Ply tells you how full it is: more ply means more strands and a thicker, fluffier look, while lower ply is lighter and easier to layer. Fine cut tinsel suits smaller tabletop trees; thick cut fills a big tree faster. Taller and wider trees take more length, so it is easier to grab an extra 200cm length or a 10m roll than to run short halfway down.

Shop Christmas tinsel in store or online

Tinsel also works on stair rails, mantels and doorways well before the tree goes up. Order online for delivery Australia wide, or shop in person at any of our 8 stores across New South Wales: Gregory Hills, Brookvale, Menai, Erina Fair, Lake Haven, Tuggerah, Wagga Wagga and Bankstown.
