How to choose the right paint

Acrylic dries quickly, cleans up with water while wet and works on canvas, card and wood, so it suits most craft projects. Oil colours stay workable longer and blend smoothly, but brushes need turps to clean, and a coat of gesso helps paint grip the canvas. Watercolour needs paper made for water. For younger kids, washable paint makes cleanup easier. Buy black and white in larger sizes, since you use more of them, and keep lids tight between sessions.
