Headwear

Costume hats, wigs, tiaras, masks and party glasses make up our headwear range, with more than 600 pieces to finish a costume from the neck up. Prices run from $1.20 to $44.99, so a quick hat or headband costs very little and still changes the whole look. The Base Warehouse has been topping off costumes and party outfits since 1989.

How to choose and wear costume headwear

Pick headwear that says the character at a glance, because the head is where people look first. A witch needs a pointed hat, a pirate needs a skull hat, and a 1920s flapper needs a cloche or sequin headband. Many hats are one size fits most, but check the title for kids and adult versions. For wigs, tie long hair back flat and pin it before pulling the wig on from front to back, then brush it out gently with your fingers. Masks and jumbo glasses are handy for guests who do not want to wear makeup. Pair a witch hat with the rest of our witches and wizards range or a pirate hat with a pirate costume.
